Minister of General Education, David Mabumba has challenged teachers in the country to create standards in the education sector.
Mr Mabumba, who is on a tour of schools in Muchinga Province, has also met with teachers in the region.
He says meeting with teachers is important because teachers are key stakeholders in improving service delivery in the education sector.
The Minister has disclosed that the biggest expenditure of resources allocated to the Ministry goes towards personal emoluments.
Mr Mabumba says he will ensure funds are used for their intended purpose and primary schools will now receive money directly into their accounts, unlike previously when the money had to go through other channels.
He says government is working to address inadequate teachers infrastructure, learning materials and furniture.
